Get raucous with Los Rakas

One of our favorite local acts is Panamanian hip-hop duo Los Rakas, based in Oakland, who consistently tear it up. Bounce with them this Saturday at the New Parish -- and try to get "Soy Raka" out of your head.

¡Los Rakas! Panamá.

Gracias for this. It's interesting that the right-wing trolls that smug on this site daily only do so on the political articles. I guess the political articles are the only articles they're contracted/paid to troll on. They have no interest in art or culture, so they don't troll here (fortunately). They should watch this cool video, not that there would be any chance that it could help relieve their chronic constipation.

Hip-hop sucks! Now someone pay me!

Hip-hop, rap, motown, gospel, reggae are all over-simplistic forms that have little critical quality.

It's only when whites took some of the least bad forms of black music (jazz, blues) and infused it with some subtlety and style that it became acceptable.

The best black artists were Elvis and the Stones.

I suppose you didn't notice as you were busy listening to sub talent hip - hop.

Does that help?
